He began his musical studies at the Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco, where he studied piano. He holds a degree in Music Education from ESART (Castelo Branco) and a degree in Composition from ESMAE (Porto). He also completed a Master’s degree in Composition and Music Theory under the guidance of Dimitris Andrikopoulos and Eugénio Amorim, where he developed compositional projects exploring collaboration between music and other artistic disciplines. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Music Teaching from the Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto), where he was awarded a merit scholarship. He attended masterclasses with Jonathan Harvey, Kaija Saariaho, Marko Cicilliani, Pascal Dusapin, among others.

His work Dominó was premiered by the ESMAE Symphony Orchestra and subsequently received a reading by the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música (2011). In 2012, he participated in the 16th Annual Percussion Workshop - Trstenice Symposium (International Courses for Composers and Percussionists) in the Czech Republic under the guidance of Jeff Beer, Tomáš Ondrušek, and Ivo Medek, where his work Txcta, for multi-percussion, was premiered. That same year, he was selected to participate in the ENOA Project (European Network of Opera Academies) at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), under the guidance of Luca Francesconi, where he premiered the work Wolf_Gang, for mezzo-soprano, tenor and orchestra. Unwanted was premiered by the Grupo de Música Contemporânea de Lisboa (2012), and Hunga Mate, for four voices, ensemble, didgeridoo and electronics, was premiered by Ensemble I&D at Teatro Helena Sá e Costa (Porto). He premiered Material Orchestra, a sound installation for children based on sensors and live-electronics, at the Associação Infantário e Jardim de Infância Carolina Michaëlis (Porto) in 2018. In 2025, Lendas de Ródão, for narrator and orchestra, was premiered by Sinfonietta de Castelo Branco. He also undertook two artistic residencies with Síntese - Grupo de Música Contemporânea in Sobral de São Miguel (2023) and Lousa (2026), where his works Périplo Sonoro and Cherraque-Cherraque were premiered.

He recorded two works for clarinet with Frederic Cardoso: in 2015, the piece False Entropy, for bass clarinet and electronics, released on the CD Press the Keys, and in 2021, Stereochromatic, for clarinet and electronics, released on the CD Lux et Umbra, which was premiered at Casa da Música. 

He teaches the disciplines of Composition, Analysis, and Composition Techniques at the Conservatório de Música do Porto and Artâmega - Conservatório de Artes de Marco de Canaveses. He develops a wide range of projects with his students in musical creation and experimentation, encouraging them to explore musical analysis and composition.
