The idea for Scrap arose from the desire to create a collaboration between the composer, the performer (in this case, the actor) and the director. In this way, a synchronous dependent collaboration was established, based on a series of rehearsals and discussions between the participants, with the aim of exploring the collective creative process.
The initial idea of creating a play in which the action was carried out solely by the actor was the main driving force behind the development of the work's theme. If the actor was intended to be the only person controlling all aspects of the action on stage (the space, the movements), then the musical component (electronic music) could also become part of his domain. Thus, in an attempt to find solutions to this challenge, the actor is placed on stage in a satirical representation of the life of a composer, where the scores, the piano and the computer become part of the scenery.
